Mobility Worldwide

Change the life of one who needs it most!

Africa Explore Safaris supports Mobility Worldwide through a direct donation of 2.5% of the gross sales of Safaris and Tours to the PET Zambia chapter located in Livingstone, Zambia.

As a valued client of Africa Explore Safaris YOU will be able to help people who have mobility limitations in Africa to enjoy a more active and productive life by allowing them to get off the ground and be more mobile with the use of the Mobility Cart.

These crippling mobility limitations may be as a result of disease, such as Cerebral Malaria which afflicts thousands of young children across rural Africa, OR by landmine explosions and accidents where professional medical care was not immediately available. The disabled people are often shunned by their communities because they become a burden on those around them.

YOU can help change that! You can also donate a Mobility Cart valued at $150 to lift another person off the ground.

You may also enjoy tax benefits in the USA should you wish to make a larger contribution to this life-changing cause.

Mobility (Personal Energy Transportation) Beginnings

Mobility Worldwide began in 1994 when Larry Hills, missionary in Zaire (now Congo), Africa, told Reverend Mel West of the great need for three-wheeled, hand-cranked wheelchairs for victims of polio and landmines. Mel contacted Earl Miner, product designer and long-time friend and mission partner, and the process of the prototype design began.

In 1995, When prototype development was ready for field testing, four were shipped to Larry Hills with the instructions to “put these in the worst place you can find, and see if they pass the test.” Larry did, and the Mobility Carts did. Shipments began to Zaire, where Larry had set up a place to receive the frames, put on the wooden beds, and distribute them.

Mission and Vision

Our Mission: Mobility Worldwide reflects the love of God by bringing the gift of mobility & dignity to those in developing countries who are unable to walk. And we will drive this mission because of our passion for our vision:

Our Vision: End immobility in the world.
